DINNER PARTY PROJECT
A few months ago, I left my job at a media company in Venice and started working on freelance projects out of my apartment.
There are great things about working from home, particularly in Los Angeles:
No commute.
The ability to make my own hours.
No co-workers heating up fish in the company microwave.
But some days, especially when I’m in the middle of working on a big project, I can go all day without having an in-the-flesh conversation with another human being. And after a long day of doing that, it’s not much fun sitting down to eat a delicious home-cooked meal by yourself.
That’s why I’ve decided to start what I’m calling the Dinner Party Project.
Here’s the deal: if you live in LA and are willing to come down to Brentwood, I’ll make dinner (see above for a photo of something I cooked) as long as you stay and share it with me. If you’d want to bring a friend along, that’s fine, too. Just let me know in advance and bring a few bucks to cover the cost of the extra food.
I know there are a lot of interesting people on Tumblr, especially out here in Los Angeles. I want to start meeting more of you and reconnecting with those of you I already know in real life.

Here are some testimonials from friends I’ve had over for dinner in the past:
Jenn, stylist: “Nathan is a great cook. Every time he’s had me over, he’s been entertaining and made delicious food.”
Mike, actor: “The quality of dish could only be compared to the quality of the conversation. Excellent all around.”
Katherine, painter: “He’s a good host and his place is really cute. The food is definitely going to be good. I’ll eat his food anytime.”
Joanna, writer: “His bungalow is much less rapey than I expected it to be. He taught me everything I know about making huevos rancheros.”
Heather, designer: “Having dinner with Nathan is a delight. The conversation and asparagus were amazing.”
